ECTkeyboard is an AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication) program that allows individuals with reduced motor skills to type text letter-by-letter via pressing only one physical button.

The program can be coupled with eye tracking applications (ECTtracker), allowing to select characters in a text matrix through eye movements and blinking. It also supports direct input of characters from the virtual keyboard through contracting a muscle or a group of muscles, drawing the air (with ECTlistener) or other means available to people with limited motor skills.

The main window of the program is a text matrix with a set of symbols or pictograms, the appearance and the order of which can be customized by the user. ECTkeyboard allows to enter text using different methods : Step by step- mode , in which the program highlights one character after another , and the user selects the desired character through blinking or other accessible action; Coordinate mode ( when the selection is made horizontally and vertically) where the user first indicates the row or the column before selecting the desired character in them; Separating regime, where the entire text matrix gets divided in two, after being selected the part containing the desired letter splits in its turn, and so-on until a single character is selected ; Virtual keyboard mode allows to work with a mouse or another manipulator device. Operating modes are suitable for different groups of users with limited motor skills; all typed text is registered to a file.

ECTkeyboard has a simple interface, but at the same time a plurality of customizable settings. Almost any parameter can be modified – the number of letters in a row or column, matrix colors, colors and font style of a selected cell or to the entry delay, allowing to choose the most comfortable work pace, avoid fatigue and make working with ECTkeyboard as comfortable as possible. All settings can be imported to files allowing to quickly switch them.

ECTistener software, created and developed by EyeComTec (www.eyecomtec.com) is intended to analyze sound signals from any microphone. Depending on the length and volume of the signal, ECTlistener emulates key strokes and sends control codes to the receiving software.
The program was created for disabled people (paralyzed or those with extremely reduced mobility) and works in conjunction with other programs (e.g. ECTkeyboard symbol matrix). By using a personal computer with a microphone and both ECTlistener and ECTkeyboard, patients can type text letter-by-letter by using individualized vocal prompts such as moans, loud breathing, sniffing and many other sounds. This allows them to communicate with their relatives, friends, service or medical staff.
Nowadays, there are many technical solutions that allow users to generate key strokes with different sounds, or inhalation or exhalation of air. However, all these solutions require special equipment and are not available for everyone at a reasonable price. Simultaneously, EyeComTec are developing ECTlistener as an easy, comfortable to use and affordable alternative for those solutions.
To start the program the user needs only a personal computer equipped with a microphone which are freely available in any electronic or computer shop. ECTlistener can even work on very old personal computers with low productivity, due to the program’s low system requirements. Furthermore, fast export or import of all settings, the small size of the program and the ability to work without any installation, allows the user to execute ECTlistener from any removable device, for example, flash card, external hard drive etc.

Show the address instead of just your name in incoming emails

If you have more than one email address in your Exchange mailbox Outlook will only show your name as recipient, regardless of which email address the incoming email was directed to.

Even worse: When you try to view the details of the recipient Outlook will show your ActiveDirectory entry but not which exact email address was used by the sender.
